Whitewater Instructors and Retail Assistant Positions
Thank you for inquiring about Paddlesports positions at Zoar Outdoor. We are currently hiring for the positions of retail assistants and ACA certified whitewater instructors/ACA certifiable for full and part-time seasonal positions. We generally hire between February and May, however, we accept applications year-round. Our retail shop is open year-round with the peak of the business during summer months, instructional clinics generally run from April-October.

Paddlesports Whitewater Instructor
Our committed instructional staff of paddling professionals teach because they love it. Through dynamic instruction and flexible programming we make paddling accessible to a broad spectrum of students. We provide basic curriculum frameworks and allow individual instructors to teach according to student needs, the environment, and their own strengths. We use cutting edge teaching methods, equipment and technology to provide an experience that represents an excellent value.
Zoar Outdoor is looking for energetic, outdoorsy individuals for the position of Whitewater Instructor. Individuals would work with the Director of Paddlesports and Paddlesports Manager providing top notch instruction and retail products for our clients. The responsibilities include teaching whitewater clinics, driving, equipment maintenance and providing expert customer service in our retail operations.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned whitewater professional, who loves to teach and loves to learn. ACA training is available for candidates with requisite paddling and soft skills.
Retail Assistant
The Outfitters Shop is a whitewater specialty shop featuring a wide selection of the latest whitewater gear and boats. As a small, specialty retailer we distinguish ourselves from our competition by being experts in our field and by providing the best possible customer service. We pride ourselves on being knowledgeable about the gear we sell, and the rivers we paddle. The Outfitters Shop also serves as a welcome center for guests doing other activities at Zoar Outdoor. Our customers are our most important asset! Treat every interaction with professionalism, and greet every customer with a genuine smile!
Zoar Outdoor is looking for energetic, outdoorsy individuals for the position of Retail Assistant. Individuals would work with the Director of Paddlesports and Paddlesports Manager providing professional retail service for our clients. The responsibilities include in-store sales, start to finish follow through of online orders, answering phones and email, renting boats, outfitting services, retail and instruction area cleaning and instruction equipment maintenance.
We hire for personality and character, and train for skill. This is an Entry-level customer service position, offering the opportunity to interact with guests while developing your outdoor recreational skills. Preference is given to whitewater paddlers with familiarity of whitewater equipment.
