Why Raft with Zoar Outdoor?

Nothing promotes teamwork like paddling together down a class III rapid.  Nothing enhances connections like spending a day working in unison to avoid obstacles or challenging waves.  Nothing relieves stress like being outside, focusing on the river and experiencing excitement!

Highly Experienced

We pioneered whitewater rafting on the Deerfield River in 1989. Over 31 years later, we continue to build on our experience to offer well planned trips with friendly professional guides, many of whom have a decade or more of whitewater guiding know-how.

Uniquely Immersive

We handle the logistics, we provide the gear, we lead the trip. You dive in and experience the thrill!

Best in Class

Our comfortable facilities are conveniently located on the Deerfield River at the end of one raft trip and the beginning of another, which means you spend less time in a bus and more time on the river. Our guides are carefully chosen, highly trained (we never stop training) and passionately engaged.

Spring, Summer or Fall

Whitewater Rafting by Season

Springtime brings snowmelt and rainfall with higher water, colder temperatures and more exciting rapids on the Millers, West and Concord Rivers and the Zoar Gap.

Summertime boasts warmer water and air temps and dam-controlled water releases on the Deerfield River’s Zoar Gap, Dryway and Float trips.

Fall offers crisp days, pleasant water temperatures and changing foliage on the Zoar Gap, Dryway and Float trips as well as the fall release weekend on the West River in southern Vermont.

We did white water rafting half day. Our guide Steve was AMAZING! His knowledge of the river was incredible and he guided us through all the rapids with expertise! The rest of the crew was also very attentive. We had a great time! Recommended 100%.
