  left up river for a short attainment section\, before rounding a buoy and
  heading back down stream. The course is just under two miles of class 1 p

 ins the Deerfield. The takeout is at the Paddle-Adventure Run transition a

 ter's river conservation and recreation access work throughout the northea
 st.</p>\n<p>For more than 25 years\, American Whitewater has hosted the De
 erfield RiverFest to celebrate the successful dam relicensing process that
  provides 32 annual whitewater releases on the Dryway section and 106 annu
 al whitewater releases on Fife Brook section of the Deerfield River.</p>\n
 <p>The main festival activities take place on Saturday evening from 5-10pm
  at Berkshire East\, Charlemont\, MA and provide entertainment for both pa
 ddlesport and non-paddlesport enthusiasts young and old. Admission to the 
 event is $10 per person.</p>\n<p>The Deerfield River Festival is a critica
 l fundraiser for American Whitewater\, and is one of their premiere events
 . All proceeds from the festival support American Whitewater’s conservatio
 n and access work throughout the Northeast including the dam relicense on

 l includes sit-on-top boat\, paddle\, PFD\, helmet\, wetsuit\, water shoes
 \, jacket. Renters will need to come into Zoar Outdoor (7 Main St\, Charle
 mont MA in the 'Outfitters Shop') on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning 
 to complete a rental waiver and watch a short video. They will also need t
 o pick-up any equipment from Zoar Outdoor (excluding the boat and paddle) 
 on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Hours are Friday 3/28 9am-6pm\, S
 aturday 3/29 7AM-5PM. We will stage the boats and paddles at the kayak lau
 nch at Mohawk Park Campground (559 Tea St rt 2\, Charlemont MA)\, and race
 rs will need to affix their bib number to a boat at the park. We will pick
  up the kayaks and any rental gear at the takeout of the kayak leg below t
 he Route 8A bridge (the bridge you cross over to enter Berkshire East\, ac
