Giving Thanks
At this hectic time of year, with the hubbub of shopping, feasting and holiday travel, it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters. We’d like to take a few moments to give a “shout out” to some of the many people who helped us make this year wonderful despite the challenges we faced with Tropical Storm Irene.
First off, thanks to the Academy at Charlemont, David Specht, Sue Wood, Phil, Eli and Jeffrey Buck for help with cleaning up. Thanks to Peggy Hart and several residents of Deerfield for help in recovering our gear. Thanks to Todd Gerry and W.R. Hillman and Sons for a quick response to the cleanup call. Thanks to Win Healy, Toby Gould, Neal Lear and the Charlemont Conservation Commission for their help with permitting and other municipal services. Thanks to Steve Farley and everyone at NRS. Our barn and all our gear washed away on a Sunday, and replacement equipment was here by Thursday of the same week. Can’t beat that service, and they were generous enough to give us pre-season pricing! Thanks to our very dedicated staff. In addition to their commitment throughout the season, many went above and beyond expectations to help in the massive cleanup effort. Finally, we wouldn’t be who we are without you, our guests. Thanks for coming out rafting, ziplining, paddling, rock climbing, bike riding, and adventuring with us this year. We hope to see you again soon! |
