OUR POLICIES
RESERVATIONS
Reservations are required for Rafting, Canoe/Kayak and Rock Climbing Instruction and recommended for Sit-on-top Kayak and Bike Rentals. You can call or mail your reservations to us or use our on-line form below to request reservations on a particular date. Reservations are taken on a space available basis. We will confirm reservations by email within 2 days of receiving them. If you do not hear from us after 2 days, call 800-532-7483 or try emailing us again.
DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS
- Reservations made more than 45 days in advance of the trip date require a 50% deposit. The balance is due 45 days prior to the trip. Nonpayment of balance by 45 days may result in forfeiture of deposit and cancelled reservations.
- Reservations made 45 days or less in advance of the trip date require payment in full.
- When paying by check or money order, the appropriate deposit must be received within 10 days of booking a trip.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Lodging / Camping
For cancellations made up to 14 days in advance of your stay, Zoar Outdoor would retain a 25% cancellation fee.
For cancellations made 14 days or less in advance of your stay, you forfeit the entire cost of your stay unless you have cancellation insurance.
Activities
For cancellations made more than 30 days in advnace of your activity date, Zoar Outdoor will retain a $10.00 per person cancellation fee.
For cancellations made 30 days or less in advance of your activity date, you forfeit the entire cost of your trip unless you have cancellation insurance.
TRANSFERRING RESERVATIONS
All reservations are transferable to another person, but not another date. Transferring to another date is the same as cancelling.
INCLEMENT WEATHER/HIGH WATER
Zoar Outdoor trips go regardless of the weather with the exception of weather conditions deemed dangerous by Zoar Outdoor. Any judgment of dangerous conditions will be made the morning of the trip at Zoar Outdoor. We reserve the right to move a trip to another river or another section of the Deerfield depending on water levels. In the event we must cancel a trip for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
CANCELLATION INSURANCE
Cancellation insurance allows you to cancel up to 24 hours before a trip and receive a full refund or transfer your reservation to another date. Cancellation insurance must be purchased at the time that an initial reservation is made and must be taken by all members of a group. No-shows on the day of the trip or last-minute cancellations are not covered by cancellation insurance. (Cost is15% of your lodging or activity costs)
THE RISKS
While we have an excellent record, the sports of whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, biking and rock climbing have inherent risks. It should be recognized that accidents can and do occur. For this reason, we cannot assume responsibility for injury or loss of property. Participants in all activities will be required to sign a waiver stating that they are aware of the risks involved and are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Pregnant women will be prohibited from participation in Zoar Outdoor activities. Those with health problems limiting their normal activities may be prohibited from participation at Zoar Outdoor's discretion.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG POLICY
The use of recreational drugs or alcohol is prohibited on all Zoar Outdoor trips. If you arrive at Zoar Outdoor under the influence, you will be prohibited from participating in the day's activity. In the event that we prohibit you from participating, you will not receive a refund.
