This Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is the prediction of precipitation amounts for the Northeast River Forecast Center's forecast area over the next 24 hours.

CHARLEMONT RAIN GAUGE/WEST BRANCH LEVEL

As of June 12, 2010, we're posting the level of the West Branch as reported by the Readsboro General Store.  The folks at the Readsboro General Store have been great about reading the gage for paddlers for years, but they've been getting lots of phone calls recently, so in order to save them the hassle, we've worked it out so that we'll call them in the morning and afternoon on days the West Branch might be running and we'll post the level here. If you look here and the West Branch level isn't posted, please call us at 800 532-7483 and we'll call the General Store and then immediately post the gage reading they give us.    The West Branch is a class V run and should only be run by expert boaters.  Because of its flashy nature, levels on the West Branch vary constantly, so you should always check the level just before putting on.
