FLY FISHING TRIP DETAILS
YOU SHOULD BRING
- Current MA fishing license (available online at http://www.sport.state.ma.us/). Note: Zoar Outdoor will assist online purchase if necessary, but this will inevitably delay the fun...
- NOTE: Studded footwear will not be allowed in the raft. Felts are appropriate
- High quality rain jacket, rain pants or waders, and rain hat
- Polarized sunglasses and wide brim hat
- Dress in layers with warm/dry clothing. Do not wear cotton!
- Supplex Buzz Off outerwear and/or bug repellant in May, June and early July
- If you prefer your own gear, a 9 foot rod for WF5F or WF6F is an excellent choice. A sink tip would also be useful. Bring your favorite flies as well!
- Camera, in waterproof protection

- Introduction to tactics, methods, and fly patterns effective in local waters

WHERE AND WHEN TO MEET
Fly fishing clinics and trips meet at 8:30 am at Hawk Mountain Lodge next to our Zoar Outdoor basecamp at the west end of Charlemont, Massachusetts. We are approximately 2 1/2 hours from Boston and 3 1/2 hours from New York.
- To get here from Boston take Route 2 west. Where Route 2 merges with Interstate 91 in Greenfield be sure to exit again onto Route 2 west (exit 26.) Zoar Outdoor is about 17 miles west of this exit. We're based in a red colonial on the north side of the road.
- To get here from New York City take Interstate 95 north to Interstate 91 north. Take exit 26 in Massachusetts and follow Route 2 west for about 17 miles. We're based in a red colonial on the north side of the road.
