2012 Deerfield River Rally

Join us in rallying around the Deerfield River this spring as we kick off the summer Deerfield season with a River Cleanup, a Paddling Refresher and the Reel Paddling Film Festival.
River Cleanup
We'll be cleaning up the Deerfield on both Saturday and Sunday. Join us for either day and you'll get half off the Reel Paddling Film Festival on Saturday evening. If you would like to help please let us know by emailing us at info@zoaroutdoor.com. We will meet in the Outfitter's Shop at Zoar Outdoor at 10 am on both mornings to get ready.
Paddling Refresher
Time to shake off the dust and get ready for the season. Zoar Outdoor's Paddling School instructors are ready and excited to help you improve your paddling. The Paddling Refresher is designed for experienced whitewater paddlers (Class II to Class IV), not for beginners*. When you sign-up for the Paddling Refresher you will select the appropriate paddling group based on your skill, experience level and desired outcome. Our Instructors will create an environment to help you get to the next level, refresh your paddling and make if look good! We will be using various sites and teaching tools including video evaluation. Single and double blade paddlers are welcome.
Group A: Class II boater who has taken 1 or 2 courses and is competent and comfortable performing eddy turns, peel outs and ferries in class II water.
Group B: Class II-III boater who is competent and comfortable performing maneuvers in class II+ and want to start working toward Class III performance.
Group C: Class III boater who can perform maneuvers in class III water and want to improve performance.
Group D: Class IV boater who can paddle class IV but may want to improve and become more consistant and efficient.
To sign-up for the Paddling School Refresher just go to our website or call our reservations office at 800-532-7483. You will choose one of the four groups and we will help you work on your skills. We are offering 2 mini-clinics per day at a discounted rate to help rally around the Deerfield River!
Sign up for one day and participate in the River Clean-up the other or sign up for both days; it is totally up to you. As a participant in the Paddling Refresher you can get a 50% discount on the entrance to the Reel Paddling Film Festival on Saturday night.
The price is $80/day or $140 for 2-days (includes lunch, boats & gear used if needed, thank-you gift and 50% discount on film festival entrance fee)
*If you have never been in a whitewater kayak or canoe before this is not the course to take. If you are interested in learning to paddle a whitewater kayak or if you want to bring someone along who is interested, we are offering a 2-day Novice kayak clinic the same weekend.
Reel Paddling Film Festival World Tour
After your busy day join us at the Warfield House in Charlemont for the Reel Paddling Film Festival! Enjoy the best paddling films of the year. Come before the films and enjoy a great dinner at the Warfield House. For more information about the festival http://www.reelpaddlingfilmfestival.com/ The films will start at 7:30 pm, tickets at the door are $15, Advance tickets $12 and if you participant in either the river clean-up or the refresher you can get a 50% discount on tickets.
