What's New in New England Outdoor Adventure
We're always thinking of how we can improve your experiences and continue to stimulate your spirit for adventure. Here are a few of the new happenings at Zoar Outdoor:
2009 Zoar Outdoor Events:
Come join Zoar Outdoor instructors in the Hampshire College pool in Amherst MA for a day of kayaking, rolling practice and fun. Stay for the evening film festival or head home after the day in the pool. This event is free and open to the public. Minimum age is 18 (sorry, College rules).

Deerfield River Clean-Up call for dates
A river clean-up on the Deerfield River done in conjunction with America Outdoors and locally sponsored by Zoar Outdoor. Local schools, clubs and boaters clean up 20 miles of shoreline. Interested volunteers should contactphilip@zoaroutdoor.com.
Wilderness First Responder certification and recertification classes for outdoor professionals and enthusiasts. This course is taught in conjunction withWilderness Medical Associates of Maine.
Sponsored by The Outfitters Shop at Zoar Outdoor, this event is an opportunity to try out boats and gear on the river. The weekend is full of mini-classes and gear demos on the Deerfield River for beginner to advanced paddlers. Contactgreg@zoaroutdoor.com for information and registration.

Saturday evenings in the campground

Deerfield RiverFest – July 25 – 26
This annual festival takes place in the town fairgrounds just east of Zoar Outdoor. Lots of paddling vendors, music, raffles, and demonstrations to raise money for the non-profit river conservation organization American Whitewater. The festival takes place Saturday from 4 pm to 12 midnight followed by a downriver race and a rodeo on Sunday. For information contact Ben Van Camp at ben@amwhitewater.org
