The Ratio

As I expected, the annual Moosefest near Old Forge, NY was a treat. The weather was bitterly cold, and it snowed both days, which just added to the fun of the whole event. There was certainly no question as to whether it was drysuit time. Both Saturday and Sunday I bundled up under my drysuit and zipped up. The resulting cold hands and face were well worth the incredible whitewater.

A Kayak for My Cousin's 6th Birthday

While we were camping on the lake, my cousin celebrated her 6th birthday.  Her parents got her a kayak for her birthday and she was really excited to use it.  After putting on our PFDs and getting the boats down to the water, we hopped in and started paddling.

Pemi Fun Times

The gauge on AW was showing the Pemi around 600 cfs which is a pretty fun level for the park and play hole at the takeout.  With a free day and a great level, I made plans to meet a friend at the play hole for the afternoon.  Unfortunately when we arrived, the river was running at over 1000 cfs and the hole had washed out.
