Charlemont, MA, - Zoar Outdoor will be hosting DemoFest 2004, on June 25 - 27th. The DemoFest is a weekend of free boat demos, mini paddling clinics, film presentations, food and equipment sales.
Greg Poehlein, Retail Manager for Zoar Outdoor created the event with the aim of bringing together the boating public and the paddling suppliers. Sales representatives from 20 different companies will be attending. The event is geared towards the whitewater paddler who has some basic experience and wants to gain more skill and technical knowledge. It is also for the experienced boater who wants to demo different boats, try on gear and learn from the experts.
There will be a variety of classes, river runs and talks given each day. Each day starts with registration, refreshments and product give-a ways at 9 am at Zoar's Outfitters Shop Clinics and demos will take place on different sections of the Deerfield River. Friday's schedule of events includes advanced level paddling with the Pros on the Dryway and Zoar Gap sections of the river throughout the day. At the end of the day, reps from Liquid Logic and Jackson Kayak will a talk about comfortable outfitting for your feet in a small kayak.
Saturday's sessions include life vest demo, book signings, on-the-water sessions for kids, river rescue, rolling and freestyle mini-clinics. The morning will commence with a discussion by the Werner rep on how to buy a paddle.
On Sunday, all of the boat manufacturers will have free kayak and canoe demos at Zoar Gap. There will be mini-clinics on concepts for beginners, strokes for playboaters and an advanced river run on the Dryway. "All of the top boat companies will be coming with their latest kayak and canoe designs, hot out of the molds. "Lots of paddlers are waiting to see and try these new boats. I think the response from the public will be fantastic; we should have a full house for the weekend", states Poehlein.

Team D is a collection of world-class paddlers who have played a key role in the development, design and testing of every single Dagger whitewater boat in the past 5 years.
