Boston has been in the news lately with its bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics and the site that has most often come up when talk turns to the whitewater slalom event is the Deerfield River. While the games are a long way off and Boston has yet to be chosen from among the competing host cities, it's exciting to see the Deerfield recognized for its great whitewater. But you don't have to be an Olympic athlete to enjoy the adventures we offer - ourwhitewater kayak clinics, zip line canopy tours and raft trips are geared toward a variety of adventure appetites.
I hope you enjoy reading about how a typical progression from non-kayaker to competent advanced beginner can look, how important loons are to the flow of water on the Deerfield and why midweek trips are a blast. Finally, check out our staff spotlight on Dan Burke. He's a smart hard worker who has become a strong kayaker through working in our Outfitters Shop.
Come on out and join us this summer for an adventure getaway. Whether you'll be watching the Olympics or competing in them, we have an adventure for you!
